- Recent Developments: Multiple industry compliance analyses in 2026 indicate that REACH SVHC continues to increase compliance pressure on industries such as toys and tires

II. US EPA TSCA
- Status: Recent updates
- Important Changes: On May 21, 2026, EPA issued Test Orders under TSCA Section 4, requiring additional data on 9 of the 20 chemicals currently undergoing risk evaluation
- Risk Level: Medium (increased data requirements)
- Action Recommendations: Enterprises involved with related chemicals should monitor EPA’s data requirements and prepare compliance materials in advance
III. China GB Standards
- Status: Recent updates
- Important Changes:
- GB18580-2025 “Indoor decorating and refurbishing materials – Wood-based panels and finishing products – Limit of formaldehyde emission” was officially implemented on June 1, 2026, marking the first time that the E0 grade has been elevated from a recommended standard to a mandatory threshold
- GB/T 16400-2023/XG1-2026 “Modification 1 for National Standard of Aluminum Silicate Cotton and Products for Thermal Insulation” will be implemented on August 1, 2026
- Risk Level: Medium-High (implementation of mandatory standards)
- Action Recommendations:
- Wood-based panel and product manufacturers should immediately verify whether their products comply with GB18580-2025 requirements
- Thermal insulation material manufacturers should prepare for compliance with GB/T 16400-2023/XG1-2026
