Price Overview

Material Current Price Range WoW Change Trend
PTFE Resin RMB 30k–52k/t -3% to -5% Declining
PEEK Resin RMB 300k–400k/t (domestic); RMB 800k+/t (import) +1% to +3% Slight Up
Carbon Fiber RMB 100k–150k/t +1% to +2% Rising
PI Film RMB 600k–3.0M/t (electronic grade ≥RMB 1.0M/t) +1% to +2% Firm / Up
Specialty Ceramic Raw Materials (Zirconium Oxychloride) RMB 18.8k/t; high-purity zirconia USD 50–65.7/kg +5% to +6% Sharply Up

Key Movements

  • PTFE Resin: -3% to -5%. Weak demand and ample supply; Luxi Chemical cut quotes from RMB 35k to RMB 34k/t, and the PTFE spread is near historic lows. High fluorite/HF costs provide a floor, but soft demand caps upside.
  • Specialty Ceramic Raw Materials (Zirconium Oxychloride): +5% to +6%. Tosoh halted supply to domestic dental, electronic-ceramic and optical-communication customers, widening the high-end zirconia gap. Solid-state batteries, MLCC, photovoltaics and nuclear power jointly boost zirconium demand.
  • PEEK Resin: +1% to +3%. Demand surge from humanoid robots, the low-altitude economy and semiconductor equipment, with accelerating domestic substitution, keeps prices firm at a high level.
  • Carbon Fiber: +1% to +2%. Toray raised prices 10%–20% and Jilin Chemical lifted its 12K/3K by RMB 5k/10k per ton at the start of the year; elevated energy and logistics costs sustain the strength.

Impact Analysis

  • On procurement cost: The PTFE softness benefits downstream sealing and cable makers on cost. However, carbon fiber, zirconium-based ceramics and PI film are in up or tight channels, pressuring budgets for aerospace, new-energy and electronic-packaging players, who should lock prices early.
  • On supply chain: Enterprises with high overseas dependence on zirconium feedstock face supply-interruption risk; domestic oxychloride substitution is accelerating but near-term supply remains tight. Combined with overseas carbon-fiber hikes and logistics costs, lead times for import-dependent segments are lengthening.

Action Recommendations

  • Lock prices now: Carbon fiber, high-purity zirconia / zirconium oxychloride, and electronic-grade PI film — the up and shortage trends are clear; sign mid-to-long-term lock-in agreements or build safety stock.
  • Wait and watch: PTFE resin — ample supply and weak demand leave room for further downside; maintain just-in-time purchasing.
  • PEEK resin: Build positions in batches for rigid demand, and watch for pullbacks as new domestic capacity comes online.
