Applications – Where Pet Pheromone Materials Are Used

Pet Pheromone / Applications

Applications of Pet Pheromone Materials

Where pheromone analogues earn their shelf space — the behavioural problems, the species they apply to and the product format that fits each one.

Pheromone products are not a single market. A litter-box spray, a 30-day dog collar and a 48-hour plug-in refill are bought by different customers, for different problems, at different price points. Below is how our five product lines map onto the applications that drive volume in the pet-care category.

Cats

Litter-Box Avoidance & Spraying

Urine marking driven by territorial insecurity. F3 facial pheromone signals a familiar, safe environment and reduces marking behaviour.

Cats

Scratching & Furniture Damage

Scratching is scent-marking as much as claw maintenance. F3 deposition on targeted surfaces redirects the behaviour.

Cats

Multi-Cat Household Tension

Resource competition and social stress between resident cats. Maternal appeasing pheromone lowers inter-cat aggression.

Cats

Travel, Vet Visits & Boarding

Acute situational stress in the carrier. Fast-acting spray formats applied to the carrier 15–30 minutes before travel.

Dogs

Separation Anxiety

Destructive behaviour and vocalisation when left alone. DAP signals security in the absence of the owner.

Dogs

Noise & Thunderstorm Phobia

Fireworks and storms trigger panic. Diffuser and collar formats deliver continuous background signalling.

Dogs

Travel & Kennelling

Unfamiliar environments during transport or boarding. Spray-treated bedding and crates reduce stress behaviours.

Shelter / Vet

Shelters & Rehoming

High-stress communal housing. Diffusers in kennel blocks calm newly admitted animals and ease introductions.

How Duration Claims Get Set

A spray claim is measured in hours, a diffuser refill in weeks and a collar in a month. That difference is delivered by the carrier, not the active. When you bring us an application, we work back from the claim you want to make:

  • Target duration — “soothes for up to 8 hours” needs a fast-release carrier; “works continuously for 30 days” needs a slow-diffusion matrix.
  • Delivery surface — fabric, skin-safe collar polymer, wick or aerosol propellant each demand a different carrier chemistry.
  • Climate of the end market — a product validated at 22 °C in Europe behaves differently at 32 °C in Southeast Asia. Release profiles are confirmed against your target climate.
  • Regulatory position — non-drug behavioural-support positioning differs between the EU, the US and Brazil, and shapes which claims appear on the pack.
Positioning note. Pheromone products are marketed as behavioural-support products, not medicines. Claims must stay within non-drug language, and documentation is prepared accordingly for each destination market. Confirm your intended claim with us before artwork is finalised.

Describe the behavioural problem, the species, the format and the market. We will recommend the active – carrier pairing and quote it.
